A two-row chromatic kalimba. The lower row uses the traditional C major layout, suitable for common Chinese kalimba tablature; the upper row provides additional notes, including sharps. The upper tines have rounded edges and tips bent downwards. The lower tines have sharper, seemingly stamped edges and a shallower bend.
The sound is loud and bright, with a metallic character. Almost every note has a very long decay, while the outermost tines sound briefly. Beating between pairs of notes is clearly audible, as is common with basic chromatic kalimbas.
