📊 Which is better: a solid-body or a hollow-body kalimba?

Each type has its own characteristics. Hollow-body kalimbas are usually louder, but they have a “wooden box” coloration, and the volume varies more from note to note than on a solid-body kalimba. The most carefully made hollow-body instruments can approach the evenness of solid ones, but these are rare and expensive.

P.S. A hollow box is often called a “resonator”, but a solid wooden body also acts as a resonator.
