There is nothing inherently wrong with buying on AliExpress, but making an informed choice of kalimba there can be difficult. There are huge numbers of sellers and models, including identical instruments under different names and very different instruments that look the same. Sellers may know little about them, descriptions often repeat the manufacturer's promotional claims, and a demonstration video may show another model.

That leaves reviews, which often tell you mainly whether an instrument works. Many buyers are new to kalimbas, while assessing sound quality takes experience and comparison.
